I previously wrote about<\/a> how sometimes spreadsheet failures can into new ideas in the middle of the night. I\u2019d come up with a new book idea in the middle of the night when I realised I\u2019d miscalculated a count in a spreadsheet and started watching a podcast. That idea became Breaking the Broadcast<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\r\n

I\u2019m excited to share a quick progress update. I\u2019m about two-thirds of the way through my second round of edits, and this pass is all about tightening the stakes for investigative journalist Jack Alonso and deepening Bridget D\u2019Angelo\u2019s journey as her family\u2019s immigrant history collides with a rising literary career.<\/p>\r\n

It\u2019s new territory for my writing: a contemporary thriller with a romance angle that leans into courage, legacy, and the power of speaking out\u2014echoing the tagline: \u201cBreaking News or Breaking Free? When the media bows, one journalist stands.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

Next up: a developmental edit to lock structure and voice before production begins. I\u2019m hoping to have Breaking the Broadcast<\/em> ready for release on 3 May 2026, which is World Press Freedom Day.<\/p>\r\n\n
